How does a single water meter reading turn into an operator knowing exactly where to dig? That journey is the software behind EGS Water, and this talk walks through it end to end. No region in Spain loses more water through its pipes than Galicia, yet only 20% of its municipalities do anything to prevent leaks, and the smallest ones have no budget for smart sensors. EGS gives them three things built on the data they already have: a water balance that shows how much is being lost, continuous monitoring of consumption, and anomaly detection that tells operators where to focus before the leak shows up on the invoice. Each of those is an engineering problem. We'll see how readings get in, whether they arrive as a file or in real time, how they are processed, how an algorithm picks one out of hundreds, and how the result reaches a map in front of the person who can act on it. Along the way I'll share the decisions that were harder than they looked, the constraints that shaped the architecture, and what we're building right now.
